Nokia 5530 Vs 5800 XpressMusic Phones: Features/Specifications



Low Cost 5530 Vs 5800 XpressMusic:

* Cost - the 5800's stated cost at launch was €279 compared to €200 for the Nokia 5530. That's nearly a 30% difference. If it launches in the UK the 5530 street price would be around £170 - £190, but would likely go down in time. This compared to the 5800 which started at £250 and has since dropped to £225.

* Smaller touchscreen (2.9 inches versus 3.2 inches).

* The 5530 is significantly smaller and lighter: 104 x 49 x 13 mm (68 cc) and 107g versus 111 x 51.7 x 15.5 mm (83 cc) and 109g.

* No 3G connectivity, instead the 5530 relies on EDGE and WiFi.

* No integrated GPS, which will limit the utility of location software.

* Different homescreen. The 5530 has a 20 person contact carousel (similiar to the 5630), rather than the fixed four person homescreen of the 5800.

* Different box contents. The 5530 has a different headset, no TV Out cable, no spare stylus or plectrum, a smaller memory card and no carrying case.

    I'm more interested in 5530 as i don't use 3G or GPS and 5530 looks more attractive and is cheaper than 5800.
    5530 has a more powerful 434 mHz CPU as compared to 369 mHz CPU in 5800.My vote goes to 5530.

    5800 clear winner..
    better battery life.
    and its processin is enough for its great workin..
    3G and jst 1 draw back is the contact menu on home screen...lol it doesnt matter..3G more important..and 20 contacts in quick touch! ! lol who calls so many ppl regulary! ! !?! !

    I Would Get The Nokia 5800
    i Have Them both And The 5800
    is clearly the Better phone
    the 2.9" screen on the 5530
    Just doesnt cut it for me
    and no 3G is a Bummer
    the internet is really slow
    makes the 5530 having wifi
    useless.

    5800 is the king nokia touchscreens no matter how many more phones come and go ... just waiting for kinetic scrolling & a better Homescreen in it .. Otherwise its the king anytime !

    when nokia 5800 will launch with enhanced UI. like kinetic scrilling and with upgraded Processor from 368 Mhz to 434 Mhz speed for better overall experience.

    3G is good if you are always surfing on your mobile(if your carrier has low data rates) or loves Video Calling. Otherwise 3G has no use for you.

    I have a Nokia 5800 XM. It's an awesome home and the screen is big, but I like the 5530 touchscreen metod more. Also 5800 looks better than 5530 (the black version of 5530, otherwise the white is better but hard to find). If you don't need GPS, 3G (hsdpa) and you don't want to put many movies on your phone (not only that the memory won't be enough, the screen is smaller than the one o 5800) go for 5530. It's cheaper and has a slimmer shape. 5530 is made for music and entertainment, while 5800 can be used as a perfect business phone (videocalls etc.). Wi-Fi connectivity is same on both phones. But i strongly recomment you that if you won't use the mobile internet (3G,GPRS, wich are paid services) go for 5530. Otherwise you will pay 30% more for nothing :|

    i think that the 5800 is better and if u wait till christmas then it will get a little bit cheaper so no point in 5530.Right now there is only a £100 difference but by christmas it will go down, anyway you get so much more with 5800 like 8GB memory instead of 4B and a plectrum and a carry case(i think), i'm gettin mine on boxing day, the price will be the cheapest then.

    Who needs 3G ( and the 5800 ) it SUCKS it is too damn costly ... Might as well use WiFi which is also literally EVERYWHERE! and not to mention that is FREE! and the 5300 is also prettier and more sleek . . ..

    buy the 5800, it has a stylus, 8gb card, a tv cable and a carrying case in the box, and it has a bigger screen, better video camera and more features.

    the latest Firmware V40 on the Nokia 5800 offers kinetic scrolling and now the contacts bar is not restricted to only 4 contacts,i think now it has a challenging homescreen for the nokia 5530,the believe nokia 5800 is better to buy,cuz i think 5530 is quite new to market might even drop its price,to be frank the safe thing to buy is nokia 5800

    Guys now the price between them is 50 euro,so if u want a cool phone-get 5530,if u want 3g and gps(if u dont travel with car u dont need it) -get 5800
    Manny if you ask wich is better, it depends what you mean by that.Better hardware(bigger and more uncomftrable) -5800;better price-5530.Dont listen what oder say =take wat u need,:)

    well i got the 5800 i can say its really usefull for me cause i travel alot + it is safer that 5530 ( on 5530 the touch screan is in level with the phone so if it drops the screen gets scratched ) but on the 5800 the touch screen is under a think line witch prtects it + the thinks u hear abaout contacts and the home page is old 5800 has been upgrated .. if u already have 5800 go to the nokia side and upgrate it now it ccan have more than just 4 contacts and it has deferent homepages it also has the pne that 5530 has .. so in my mind 5800 is safer , better and worth buying

    i think u better the buy nokia 5530,it depends upon ur personal requirments.........currently nokia 5800 xpressmusic is one of the most affordable high featured phone in the market
