Verizon Officially Announces Smartphone Lineup

The Samsung i760 will be hitting the No. 2 carrier’s network through online sales on October 19 (nothing new here), with Verizon Wireless stores kicking-off sales on November 4. For $350 (with contract and rebates), the Samsung i760’s 1.3 megapixel camera, hybrid keypad/slide-out QWERTY keyboard, and Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional OS can be yours.

Verizon’s successor to the tired XV6700, the Verizon XV6800, will be going head to head with Sprint’s Mogul as a Verizon-spec HTC Titan. Verizon will be adding its custom trimmings to compliment the Xv6800’s 2 megapixel camera, WiFi, sliding-QWERTY keyboard, and Windows Mobile 6.o Professional under the hood. Pricing and availability are not yet known.

The HTC Libra (CDMA version of the HTC Vox) will be coming to Verizon Wireless as the SMT5800, with the expected 2 megapixel camera, Windows Mobile 6.0 Standard, and that hybrid keypad/keyboard in tow. The SMT5800 should be just as much a hit as the HTC Vox. Pricing and availability is still unknown.

Finally, the Palm Treo 755p will be coming to Verizon Wireless in what could be the last device to see a Palm OS. If you’re a Palm OS fan, the Palm Treo 755p’s rollout on Verizon’s network should give you something to look forward to. If you’re not, then you’ll do well to check out the aforementioned Windows Mobile devices. The Palm Treo 755p’s pricing and availability is…wait for it…not yet known.
