Italy's Giorgio Armani and Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd said Sunday they have agreed to an alliance that will allow the South Korean company to sell consumer electronics products designed by the one of Italy's fashion icons.
Giorgio Armani will create the aesthetic design, while Samsung will provide the technology, the Italian fashion group said in a statement.
The first jointly-developed product, the Giorgio Armani-Samsung luxury mobile phone, will be presented Monday during Milan's Women Fashion Week. It said it expects the phone to "quickly achieve an iconic status."
It will be available in selected mobile phone stores and Giorgio Armani boutiques in major European countries from November. It will be available in other markets in 2008.
