Nokia N95 Available in White and Blue

As of April 2008, the Nseries handset will also come in white and blue, but unfortunately these new versions can only be bought in Japan, from Softbank, the third largest mobile operator in the country.

However, knowing that Nokia doesn't want to lose any chance of boosting the sales of its phones, we can hope the white and blue N95 will also be released in the rest of the world sometimes soon. On the other hand, the Finnish company might not want to do this, since N95's successor, N95 8GB, was also launched, and Nokia probably wants to keep it into the spotlight. Even more, the N96 the "ultimate Nseries" that everyone waits for, is close to being released – another reason for Nokia to forget about N95.

Of course, as the N95 8GB, the yet to come N96 will be more expensive than the original N95 (about $850 or 550 Euro), so users who can't afford to pay that kind of money for a handset, however good it might be, will probably still consider getting a N95. Which is, after all, a very good mobile phone.

The new white and blue N95 model keeps the same specs, meaning that users get the same advanced features, including the excellent 5 Megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, flash, auto focus and video recording (VGA at 30fps), GPS, HSDPA, Wi-Fi and so on. Plus, a new firmware update for the N95 has just been released by Nokia, bringing Flash Lite 3 compatibility (hence the ability to watch YouTube videos), Widgets support and many other enhancements. So, in the end, the N95 might still be around for many years to come.

WiFi Enabled Nokia 6300i Announced

With WLAN included in the 6300i, this new version, just like the 6300, is set to become another bestseller in the competitive mid-range phone segment. All features and specs remain the same, except for the inclusion of a 512MB microSD memory card (previously only 128MB) and the Nokia Desk Stand DT-23 in the sales package.

Nokia today introduced the Nokia 6300i, which offers a fully integrated and easy-to-use VoIP (Voice over IP) client combined with a GSM mobile phone. Connecting to a wireless network is simple, making the Nokia 6300i an ideal complement for connections from the home office. Browsing, downloading of applications and making VoIP calls is effortless with the Nokia 6300i, which is estimated to start shipping in the second quarter of 2008 in select markets with an estimated retail price of EUR 175, before taxes and subsidies.

The Nokia 6300i allows up to two thousand VoIP-, home-, and mobile numbers to be listed side-by-side and dedicated WLAN and VoIP symbols show the connection status and type of phone call, whether it is using GSM network or VoIP.

New Version of Y-Browser Released for S60 Devices

I'm not sure whether you know what's Y-Browser, but you should know it's arguably the best file manager for Symbian S60 devices. The new version is out now, remains free, and bring several improvements, including:

* Layout is changed, Settings Menu Revamped
* File modified time changed from UTC to local time
* Added Command short cut accelerators to the menu items
* Edit-Mark, menu has now two additional options: Mark with wild card & inverse selection
* File association settings added
* Plug-in manager added
* Email folders shown now as well (with Mail folders plug-in)

In addition, known bugs are fixed and the overall stability is improved. It's free and a must-have app for all Symbian S60 smartphone owners.

Diamond Studded Nokia E90

iPhone Set to Dethrone Blackberry

Apple announced Thursday that its coming iPhone software update is aimed at winning the hearts of business people and dethroning BlackBerry devices.

Apple said it worked with Microsoft to enable iPhones to receive email, contact and calendar information "pushed" from business computer networks using the US software giant's popular Office Exchange programs.

IPhones have 21 percent of the US "smart phone" market, second only to the 41 percent market-share held by BlackBerry devices make by Canadian Firm Research In Motion, according to Apple chief executive Steve Jobs.

The iPhone update will also provide secure wireless connections to business computing networks and allow owners to remotely "wipe" them clean, erasing all data from devices lost or stolen.

"We are doing all these things in the next release of iPhone software," Apple vice president of worldwide marketing Phil Schiller said while demonstrating the update at Apple's campus in Cupertino, California.

The free iPhone update will be available in June, one year after the devices debuted in the US market.
